What this role is about:
The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for the success of an Airbox product domain. They will drive product advancement and champion product excellence to exceed user expectations and attract new users. They will leverage their product expertise to deeply understand user problems and guide the product team's focus to solve them. The Senior Product Manager will align with strategic goals to positively impact real-life scenarios for law enforcement, fire and medical emergency services, search & rescue, and special operators.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Alignment: The Senior Product Manager is responsible for ensuring that their product domain achieves the quarterly product OKRs established by the Product Lead. They must actively support and promote the company's overall business, technology, and product strategy.
Product Ownership: Be responsible for your product's performance. Take initiative to address any underperformance and celebrate its successes.
User Focus: A deep-seated understanding of customer needs, pain points, and jobs to be done is paramount. We expect the majority of focus to be spent in user problem and solution exploration.
Problem exploration: Conduct generative user research to find the user problem to solve. Go to the source of the end user problem and understand the context around it and validate it.
Solution exploration: Run pre-development solution experimentation with end users to learn and iterate on the solution and evaluate your solution options.
Building and optimising solutions: Collaborate with the Product Owner and cross functional product team to incrementally deliver valuable solutions to the end user through value based prioritisation, setting success criteria, measuring end user outcomes and making decisions to roll back or iterate until you reach your goal.
Team Collaboration: The Senior Product Manager will work within a cross-functional product team alongside a Product Owner. The Product Owner will primarily handle Agile product management practices, including ceremonies, story creation and documentation, enabling the Senior Product Manager to concentrate on the end user. Close collaboration between the Senior Product Manager, Product Owner, and the cross-functional team is crucial.
Be the expert: Be the go-to expert for product demos and details, with a deep understanding of the product, users, the market, the competition, and emerging technologies.
Programme Leadership: Be responsible for complex programmes of product work from inception to delivery. This encompasses coordinating with cross-functional teams, including sales, design, engineering and marketing
Product Best Practice: You will leverage your considerable experience to advocate for and advance product best practice and principles within your product team and the product department, driving continuous improvement.
Mentorship: You will supervise and coach junior product team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive approach
Key Attributes We Value:
NPPV3 Clearance: Successful candidates must pass an NPPV3 clearance upon successful application, which requires 3 years of UK residency.
Willingness for regular travel: This position requires regular travel across the country to meet with end users, as a deep understanding of their needs is essential to success in this role.
Product Management Expertise: Proven experience in product discovery, solution design and delivery frameworks, with a focus on research, experimentation, and analytics. Background in product management for app and web UI.
Proven Product Leadership: A track record of leading and delivering complex products through modern product practices and processes is essential. This includes experience in mitigating risks, and navigating unforeseen challenges.
Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are indispensable. The Senior Product Manager must be able to analyse complex situations, weigh options, and make sound decisions that drive product success
Technical Acumen: The Senior Product Manager should be able to grasp technical concepts, engage meaningfully with engineers, and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
Leadership and Collaboration: Ability to lead critical work areas independently and collaborate effectively with diverse teams, including senior stakeholders, technical, research, legal, compliance, accounts, sales, or marketing departments. Ability to motivate and lead teams without direct authority.
Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail. Proactive approach to defining and managing workload.
Autonomy and Teamwork: The ability to work both independently and collaboratively is key. The Senior Product Manager should be a self-starter who can also thrive in a team environment.
Positive Attitude: Positive and proactive, with a willingness to take on responsibilities.
It’s a bonus if you have:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Prior involvement in emergency services, military, aviation or drone technology

Salary: Up to £85,000 depending on experience
